ACTRESS/MODEL/DANCERAlyson Stoner, born in Toledo, OH, August 11, 1993 began her career performing in dance at the age of 3 at the O’Connell Studios in Toledo. At age 6, her and sister, Correy , took modeling classes at the former Margaret O’Brien’s Modeling School, Toledo (now known as Starbound Studios) and through those classes, attended the International Modeling and Talent Association convention in New York City where she competed in seven categories of entertainment ranging from TV, comedy and commercial reads to modeling and dancing - all of which won her honors at the event. Agents and managers suggested meetings in New York and Los Angeles to discuss future opportunities for Alyson and from there, the decision to relocate to L.A. was formed. For the first few years after the move to L.A., Alyson trained in Hip Hop - a more popular dance in the business. She trained with well-known choreographers Wade Robson, Fatima, Hi Hat, Dave Scott, Shane Sparks and Dante 7 to name a few. She and sister, Correy, also booked a 26 performance stage show with famed actress and choreographer, Debbie Allen. Besides the dance training, Alyson also began auditioning for theatrical, commercial and voiceover roles. Her breakout performance was in Missy Elliott’s music video “Work It” followed by two more music videos and many live performances with her. She went on to work with Eminem, Will Smith and Outkast as well as several other diversified artists. Shortly after, her acting career took off when she booked commercials with Mattel, Hallmark-Disney and McDonald’s and then two ABC TV pilots in the same season. She was cast as “Sally” on the longest running Disney Channel show “Mike’s Super Short Show,” recurred on the Suite Life of Zack & Cody as “Max” and shot her own pilot for the Disney Channel titled “Better Days.” She also made guest appearances on Disney’s That’s So Raven and the hit series Drake and Josh on Nickelodeon. Her many TV credits include guest starring roles on sitcoms and episodics, appearing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Maury Povich’s World’s Most Talented Kids segment, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Bonnie Hunt Show, The Vanessa Williams Show, The Sharon Osbourne Show/Talented Kids segment as well as performing on the American Music Awards, The Kids’ Choice Awards and the NAACP Image Awards - all televised. Alyson’s big screen roles continue to expand but include favorites “Sarah Baker” from Cheaper by the Dozen 1 & 2 (Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt), “Camille” in Step Up 1 (Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan), “Alice” in Alice Upside Down (Luke Perry, Penny Marshall, Lucas Grabeel) and “Caitlyn” in Camp Rock 1, a popular Disney Channel Movie (also starring the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato). Rounding out her resume, she has many successful voiceover projects including the voice of “Isabella” on the award-winning animated series Phineas & Ferb (Disney Channel), Lilo & Stitch, W.I.T.C.H., “Holly” in the DVD series “Holly Hobbie,” Pompoko, Kung Fu Magoo (Cole and Dylan Sprouse), Kingdom Hearts and is the “Little Engine” in The Little Engine That Could. She has voiced several online and video games and is very proud to say she played the role of “Martha” in the Word of Promise Next Generation Audio Bible alongside such actors as Cody Linley, Corbin Bleu, Jordan Sparks and Anna Sophia Robb. She launched a singing career with her title song in Alice Upside Down and followed it with a remake of Dancin’ In The Moonlight (available alongside the music video on the Space Buddies DVD). She’ll be featured on an upcoming DisneyMania soundtrack and will continue recording music in the coming months. This year will bring the release of Step Up 3 (in which she returns as “Camille”) and Disney Channel’s Camp Rock: The Final Jam where she’ll reprise her role as “Caitlyn.” Alyson continues teaching dance classes around the country, is training in voice and piano and enjoys sports where she can fit them in - especially with sister, Jaimee. She’s currently promoting her own dance instructional/music video - The Alyson Stoner Project - launched online in 2009 but soon available in other markets. |
